There are many reasons to visit Africa, with safaris being one of them, and if you dream of seeing elephants thriving in their natural habitat, this is one place in the world where you are virtually guaranteed to see them.
African elephants are not shy, and over the years they have become immune to safari vehicles, which may be a good thing for animal loving travellers, but it’s not so good for the elephants themselves. Elephant poaching, much like rhino poaching, has become endemic in Africa in recent years, so much so, that some experts warn that these magnificent creatures could become extinct within just 20 years.
As someone who has witnessed elephants playing on the shores of the Zambezi River, taking mud baths in the Serengeti, and wandering aimlessly across the arid plains of Namibia, I cannot imagine a world without these gentle giants… it will just never be the same.
So if you want to take an African Safari Holiday, I recommend that you do it sooner rather than later, or you may just miss out on an elephantastic experience!
