Friday’s Photoshoot: Sand Safari’s in Sossusvlei Namibia

It might not be your ‘typical’ safari, but a sand safari in the magnificent dunes of Sossusvlei in Namibia is an amazing experience! Due to being one of the most arid landscapes on earth, there is not a huge amount of wildlife to be seen here in the world’s oldest desert, but there’s every chance you will spot a Black Backed Jackal, an Oryx or two, Springbok, and the occasional Ostrich, and the landscape more than makes up for the lack of animal sightings.

Sossusvlei is perhaps the most perfect place in Namibia for a photographic safari, and if you are looking for an entirely different safari experience, the Namib-Naukluft National Park should be your number #1 holiday destination in 2017.

Here’s what our trip to Sossusvlei looked like…
